– Call for Applications – Scholarly Journals –

As a partner in Coalition Publica, Érudit is launching a call for applications for scholarly journals wishing to be disseminated on the erudit.org platform as of January 2026. Journals will benefit from Coalition Publica’s services for journals, including:

  • Increased discoverability in library catalogues and international visibility that comes with being part of a central aggregation platform;
  • Financial support through the Partnership for Open Access;
  • Access to a professional team that will help the journal meet industry standards for scholarly publishing tailored to their unique needs in an evolving publishing ecosystem.

Supporting Best Practices

Coalition Publica works with its Library partners to help journals using, or interested in using, Public Knowledge Project (PKP)’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) software to meet best practices in:

  • High-quality metadata and digital document production
  • Submission, peer review, and editorial workflow management within OJS
  • Long-term preservation with Portico, Scholars Portal, and PKP|PN (LOCKSS)
  • Usage statistics and report generation
  • Citability and linking using persistent identifiers like DOIs and ORCID
  • Assistance meeting Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) criteria
  • Training and professional development opportunities for journal staff

Journals should submit their applications by Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) – extented from the original April 4 deadline. Journals unable to submit on time will be able to participate in the next annual call for applications. For more information on the call for applications, including details on the application process, visit the Érudit website.
