Coalition Publi.ca is the Canadian manifestation of an emerging international movement redefining the power dynamic in scholarly publishing in support of the free and open circulation of knowledge. It aims to support the SSH scholarly community in the context of a transition towards sustainable open access.
Coalition Publi.ca is a product of the ongoing consultative dialogue for the development of a national infrastructure dedicated to digital scholarly publishing, dissemination, and research.
Coalition Publi.ca is funded and supported by various partners, including the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (Cyberinfrastructure and Major Scientific Initiatives programmes), the Université de Montréal, Université Laval, Université du Québec à Montréal, Simon Fraser University, and the Fonds de recherche du Québec société et culture.
Coalition Publi.ca is led by Erudit and the Public Knowledge Project, two Canadian organizations founded in 1998 with the same ambition to create digital tools and offer services to Canadian scholarly journals.
Three development priorities:
Publishing services and support for Canadian SSH scholarly journals
Shared technological advances for publishing software and platforms
Research activities for investigating the Canadian and international publishing ecosystem
Working with us
Coalition Publi.ca will offer a full array of production, dissemination, preservation and research services to journals and the SSH community. The complete service offering will be released in Winter 2018.
Coalition Publi.ca is developing a modular, open source, standards-based infrastructure built on PKP’s Open Journal System and Érudit’s centralized dissemination platform and research facility for text and data mining.
